A called, one-day Special Session of the Allegheny West Provisional Conference of the Global Methodist Church on Saturday, March 16, 2024. The Special Session will be held at Reynoldsburg Community Church. The purpose of the Called Session is to elect the lay and clergy delegates who will represent our Conference at the Convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church in San Jose’, Costa Rica September 20-26, 2024.
Generally speaking, all lay persons and active deacons and elders serving under appointment in local churches, senior status* deacons and elders, or deacons and elders serving in extension ministry appointments who meet the requirements of Paragraph 611 of the Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline are eligible for election. Transitional Local Pastors, clergy appointed from Other Denominations, persons serving under Presiding Elder Assignment, or who are serving non-GMC churches/settings are not eligible for election or to participate in voting.

*Senior Status: According to Paragraph 411 of the Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline, Senior Status Deacons and Elders must declare their intention to attend the Special Session 90 days before the date. Senior Status Clergy who wish to stand for election and have voice and vote at the March 16, 2024 Called Session of the Allegheny West Conference must notify Joy Perry in writing at jperry@alleghenywestgmc.org by December 18, 2023.
